Remove EXIF Metadata Online

Open an image and re-export it through the browser canvas to strip typical embedded metadata before using the file in public documents, websites or support workflows.

How it works

  2. Process it locally in the browser.
  3. Download the re-exported file and review it before sharing.

Re-export strategy

Drawing the image to canvas and exporting a new file removes the original file container and typical EXIF metadata.

Privacy boundary

This helps remove embedded file metadata, but it does not hide sensitive information visible inside the image pixels.

Local processing

The selected file is processed in the browser and is not uploaded to an Orbitautil backend.

Common use cases

  • Clean photos before publishing.
  • Reduce embedded camera or software metadata.
  • Prepare screenshots for documentation.
  • Share images with less file metadata.

Limitations

  • The tool re-exports pixels rather than listing every metadata field.
  • Animated images and advanced profiles may not be preserved.
  • You should still review the final image before sharing sensitive visual content.

Frequently asked questions

Does this remove visible information in the image?

No. It removes typical file metadata, not text or objects visible in the pixels.

Is the image uploaded?

No. The re-export runs locally in the browser.

Will all metadata always be removed?

The canvas re-export removes common file metadata, but you should verify the output if you have strict requirements.
